South Korea donates $300,000 for PH earthquake victims and $200,000 to Zamboanga

ABS-CBN News correspondent Willard Cheng (via ABS-CBNNews.com) reports that South Korea "is donating US$300,000 to help victims of the massive earthquake that hit parts of the Visayas and another US$200,000 for the rehabilitation of Zamboanga following the attack of Moro National Liberation Front rebels." This was revealed by President Benigno Aquino III on Thursday, October 17.

"Damang-dama natin 'yung kagustuhan nilang tumulong sa ating bansa (We feel their desire to help our country)," Aquino said.

The report noted: "More than 160 people have died while more than 3 million have been affected by the quake. Nearly all the fatalities were recorded in Bohol."
