Janet Lim Napoles allegedly having a tough time finding a new lawyer
This is not surprising.
News5’s Marlene Alcaide (via InterAksyon.com) reports: "Janet Lim-Napoles, who is accused of conniving with lawmakers and other government officials to funnel off billions of pesos from the Priority Development Assistance Fund, or congressional pork barrel, is having a hard time finding lawyers to represent her in various cases." News5 cited sources who are "close to Napoles."
The report noted: "Napoles, who went to the Senate on Thursday, November 7, to appear before the Blue Ribbon Committee's hearing on the P10-billion pork barrel scam, will be assisted by senior lawyers from the Public Attorney's Office." However, PAO head Percida Acosta explained that "lawyers Howard Areza, head of PAO executive services; Analisa Santiago, assistant head of Special and Appealed Services; and Marlon Buan, acting National Capital Region director, will represent Napoles only if she arrives without her own counsel, and only for the day."
Napoles’ former lead counsel, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, resigned last week.
