Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile "reiterates his innocence" after Janet Lim Napoles’ Senate appearance

He also said the truth will set him free.

Ernie Reyes of reports that on Thursday, November 7, "Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile assailed Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago's attempt to get Janet Lim Napoles to confirm he was the ’Tanda’ (old man) referred to by the whistle-blowers as the guiltiest among legislators in the pork barrel scam."


The report quoted Enrile’s statement, where he said, "I support any investigation that seeks to uncover the truth about this PDAF scam," Enrile declared in a statement after the hearing. He and the two other accused senators have inhibited themselves from the hearings. To this end, I urge Mrs. Napoles to reveal the whole truth no matter who is hurt, as only the truth will set me free."


In conclusion, Enrile added, "Finally, let  me  reiterate my innocence, and that of my staff members and my office."
