Fast and Furious star Paul Walker dies on same day as his charity event for Typhoon Yolanda victims
He leaves behind his 15-year-old daughter Meadow Rain.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Hollywood actor Paul Walker, one of the stars of The Fast and the Furious franchise, was killed in a car crash on Saturday, November 30 (U.S. West Coast time) in Valencia, California. Walker was in the passenger seat of the wrecked Porsche. His friend was reportedly in the driver’s seat.
The report noted: "According to a statement issued by his representatives, Walker, 40, was attending a charity event to aid Filipino victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda in the Philippines) for his organization Reach Out Worldwide." In fact, the accident happened sometime in the afternoon, close to the venue of the fundraising event. Some reports say Walker and his friend were on their way to the event, while others say they were leaving the event.
There are reports claiming that the car crash was possibly caused by the loss of control of the Porsche, which hit a tree and then burst into flames. Investigators are still figuring out the specifics of the crash.
Walker has a 15-year-old daughter named Meadow Rain, whose mother is his former girlfriend Rebecca McBrain.
