Melanie Marquez survives car accident in the U.S.
She suffered a bone fracture, though.
Edwin Sallan of InterAksyon.com reports that Filipino actress and 1979 Miss International Melanie Marquez suffered a bone fracture after her car fell into a ravine that turned out to be 12 feet deep last December 8 in Arizona. (An ABS-CBNnews.com report reveals that Marquez’s spine was fractured, but that she was, fortunately, able to move.)
The report quoted Marquez's daughter, Maxine Bumgardner, as saying in a Facebook post that the family's car crashed after it "hit black ice and slid into a cement canal." Marquez's son, Adam, survived the accident with a few bruises.
According to Jullie Lopez, Marquez's friend, the accident occurred as the beauty queen and her family "were on their way from Las Vegas back to Richfield, Utah." Marquez has been living in the U.S. with her American husband and family for several years now.
