Manny Pacquiao invites 1,000 guests to "simple" birthday celebration in GenSan
This shows that he hasn’t been knocked out by his tax woes.
Aquiles Zonio of the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports that boxing icon and congressman Manny Pacquiao took a break from having extravagant parties this year and decided to celebrate his 35th birthday in a "simple" manner by holding a praise and worship service at the KCC Convention Center in General Santos City.
The report noted that Pacquiao decided to donate his money to victims of typhoon Yolanda in Leyte and Eastern Samar instead of spending it on a lavish party. In keeping with the times, the boxer also ditched holding a raffle and inviting showbiz personalities to perform at his birthday celebration.
But while the boxer ditched holding a grand party, he did not exactly scrimp on the number of people he wanted to celebrate his birthday with. According to the report, as many as 1,000 guests were invited to the event.
