P-Noy to new PMA graduates: Uphold the Honor Code everywhere
How about an Honor Code for politicians, too?
Kristine Angeli Sabillo of Inquirer.net reports that in his commencement address in the March 16 graduation rites of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio, President Noynoy Aquino said, "Kung tungkulin nating pairalin ang Honor Code sa institusyong ito, paninindigan din sana natin ito sa labas ng PMA," Aquino said in his commencement address. (If it is our duty to champion the honor code in this institution, we should also uphold it outside the PMA)."
The report noted: "The President's speech drew applause as he referred to the controversial Honor Code that
has come under fire after the dismissal of Cadet First Class Aldrin Jeff Cudia." Nevertheless, Aquino has just directed Armed Forces of the Philippines chief-of-staff General Emmanuel General Emmanuel Bautista to coduct an investigation of Cudia’s case.
