SM Development Corp. executive falls from his 16th floor Makati condo
Niña P. Calleja of the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports, "The body of Efren Tan, 52, vice president for sales and property of SM Development Corp. (SMDC), was found on a concrete canopy at the 7th floor of BSA Tower on Legazpi Street in Legazpi Village at around 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21."
The report revealed that Tan had a unit on the 16th floor of the building. However, it was said that he only "stayed there occasionally."
On the day he died, Tan was reportedly dropped off at the condominium by his driver. Based on the information gathered by the police, Tan went inside the building and took the elevator alone to get to his apartment.
The report said that Tan’s driver had remarked that he looked troubled.
Senior Supt. Manuel Lukban, Makati police chief, told the Inquirer that moments after Tan went inside his unit, people in the building heard a loud thud. They looked for the source of the noise and "found Tan’s bloodied body sprawled on the canopy."
Lukban added that while they have yet to finish their probe, "several clues in the case pointed to suicide."
