CBCP wants One Direction banned from PH for leading kids to "wrong direction"
It was only a matter of time before they weighed in on this.
Evelyn Macairan of The Philippine Star reports that "Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Episcopal Commission on Youth (ECY) executive secretary Fr. Conegundo Garganta called on President Noynoy Aquino to ban One Direction from performing at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in March 2015."
Garganta said that parents should likewise not allow their kids to be led in "the wrong direction." Garganta, of course, was referring to the fact that two One Direction members (Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson) were caught on video enjoying marijuana.
Garganta added, "I think that even the local organizers do not want to have a culture of youth being stoned. That could become a problem for them."
