UP fired up over first win
Imagine what would happen if they win the championship
The team manager of the UP Fighting Maroons, Dan Palami, made good with his promise to throw a bonfire celebration if the 27-game losing streak breaks on Saturday (August 9).
The Maroons ended the slump with 77-64 win over Adamson University, prompting students, alumni, faculty, and unconditional supporters of the team to yell "Bonfire na yan!" online and offline. Even the MMDA Offficial Twitter account had a congratulatory shout out for the team.
People flocked to Sunken Garden to celebrate the little victory and Chancellor Michael Tan gave a brief speech, saying, "There is no way but UP."
