After Vice President Jejomar Binay visited Manny Pacquiao’s legislative district, rumors began to surface that the Sarangani Representative is being courted to run as Binay’s running mate in 2016.
A report published Monday afternoon by the Philippine Daily Inquirer immediately hushed the speculations. The news outfit quoted election lawyer Romulo Macalintal saying that Pacquiao is not qualified to run for Vice President yet: "For sure Binay knows that to be qualified to run for the position of president and vice president, the candidate must at least be 40 years of age on the day of the election."
The Fighting Congressman will only be 37 come election time in 2016. However, Macalintal said that The National Fist can run for a seat in the senate.
