On Wednesday during another Senate hearing, Former Makati City Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado hit the Binays anew with pictures of the family’s (supposed) 350-hectare "hacienda."
Mercado revealed in his presentation that "Hacienda Binay" has at least two mansions (one with a pool and one with a British garden), an air-conditioned piggery (gotta keep those pigs comfortable), a man-made lagoon, an aviary, a horse ranch, a fighting cock farm, an imported orchid farm, and a 40-car garage and staff house.
According to Mercado, the entire property is worth about P 1.2 billion and costs P4 million a month to maintain, adding, "Mataas ang pangarap ng ating Mayora dahil ang feeling yata ay magiging First Lady na siya ng Pilipinas sa darating na halalan."
On Thursday, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that the Binay camp has denied the allegations, calling it an "amateurish attempt" to repeat the Purisma "exposé." They described the accusations as "baseless" and the attempts to fortify it a "dud."
