The Senate Hearing on Tuesday (November 18) was more somber than usual, especially without businessman Antonio "Tony" Tiu’s smiling face. However, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano still managed to insert a bit of humor in the form of a snide remark.
Senator Cayetano spent a considerable amount of time addressing the issues raised by Vice President Jejomar Binay’s camp, like certain biases or the unfair treatment of witnesses. Vice President Binay insists that he will only be persecuted, as shown in the committee’s response to his allies who’ve attended to defend him.
In response, Senator Cayetano said, "Maririnig ko na naman sa radyo in the next few days sa BBC, sa Binay Broadcasting Corporation, na ’Kita mo, one-sided. Kita niyo dinikdik ang Makati.’ But [the Binay camp is] not here to answer."
The rest of the hearing stayed mostly on course, with the committee discussing the Commission on Audit’s alleged "clearance" of the Makati City Hall Building (and other controversial structures) and more details regarding the Makati Science High School.
