Lammily doll is the "normal" Barbie, made to look like a typical 19-year-old
And coming soon, an extension pack that will allow you to add blemishes
Â
There’s a girl trying to look like a Barbie doll and now there’s a doll that’s trying to look more like a real teen.
Â
Photos of "normal" Barbie made the rounds on Wednesday and yes, if you buy the stickers, you can put zits on her face. In a report by TIME, Lammily doll creator Nickolay Lamm said, "[A] lot of toys make kids go into fantasy, but why don't they show real life is cool? It's not perfect, but it's really all we have. And that's awesome."
Â
The project is crowd-funded, meaning that Lamm had to sell the idea to people. Apparently, people like the idea of a less perfect Barbie and the toys are now a real product. In January, Lamm will be releasing stickers that will allow toy owners to add acne, freckles, moles, and even stretch marks on the doll.
Â
Lammily dolls aren’t for sale here in the Philippines...yet. We can just maybe feel better that someone made a doll that doesn’t potentially plant the idea that people are supposed to have impossibly tiny waists.
