DOH under fire for anti-teenage pregnancy video
The song lyrics didn’t quite deliver the right message
Just a few hours after uploading its newest video campaign against teen pregnancy, the Department of Health (DOH) took down the infomercial from its Facebook page after being shot at by netizens for its "condescending" and "tactless" message.
The video showed a cheering squad performing a routine to a song written in Filipino, and included a young girl, a young boy, and an adult sharing their perspectives on the issue. Words like "gaga" (crazy), "bobo" (dumb), and "tanga" (stupid) were used in the song. Aside from the language, many noticed that the music sounded a lot like Korean all-girl group f(x)'s song, "Rum Pum Pum Pum."
