Manila in Photos: It’s Christmas Time in the City! (2014)
Ho, ho, glow. Merry Christmas!
(SPOT.ph) Halloween and Thanksgiving (oh dear) have taken a fraction of the -ber months and Christmas feels a little shorter nowadays...except when you’re stuck on EDSA for hours. Fortunately, between the rush in the malls and the standstill on the road, the city is alive with festive decorations to remind you that this season is about being happy-no matter what.
Here are the merry sights around Metro Manila. Bask in their glow while you’re killing time or, gasp, actually enjoy them and take wacky photos with your crazy pals.
SM Aura at Bonifacio Global City
Giant Dandelions by acclaimed artist Olivia D’Aboville litter the Sky Park at SM Aura.
Slightly phallic towers sprinkled with color aside, Trinoma seems to be dreaming of a snowy Christmas.
Blue and gold shine as tropical snow flakes along Ayala Avenue.
Lights are sprinkled over the flock of people in Ayala Triangle and this year, they’re joined by Christmas dragonflies.
University of Santo Tomas
Golden, glowing deers have taken over España!
Season’s Greetings from the street bursting with neon.
Bonifacio High Street
Umbrellas-turned-balls-turned-tents have become selfie spots at Bonifacio High Street. The lanterns, on the other hand, remind us of the highly festive power of love. That ribbon belongs on a Sailor Scout uniform.
Aside from this "Blue Christmas"-themed decor, folks are also flocking to Tutuban for the night market.
Century City Mall
It’s not quite Van Gogh’s vision of starry, starry night, but we must say that we’re inspired to mimic this galaxy of lights in our own home...if someone else would foot the bill.
STI Academic Center Cubao
We couldn’t quite resist being Santa paparazzi. (How’s he going to fit inside that window, you ask? Christmas magic. BELIEVE.)
