Leni Robredo, Sara Duterte Last Women Standing in Comelec List of National Bets

Vice President Leni Robredo and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio are the last women standing in the male-dominated list of presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2022 elections, according to the updated list of the Commission on Elections.

From 15 in the second cut released on Dec. 24, the poll body narrowed down the names in the tentative list of presidential bets to 11 after it removed Hilario Andes, Danilo Lihaylihay, Ma. Aurora Marcos, and Edgar Niez. The updated list was issued on Jan. 4.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez earlier said that some presidential aspirants, including Ma. Aurora Marcos, were only retained in the Dec. 24 list as they still had pending cases before poll body.

  • Arcega, Gerald
  • De Guzman, Leody
  • Domagoso, Isko Moreno
  • Gonzales, Norberto
  • Lacson, Ping
