Mayor Vico Gets COVID Vaccine, Didn't Care About Brand

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Saturday received his first dose COVID-19 vaccine dose, not caring which brand he got. He was vaccinee number 57,858.

Sotto got the AstraZeneca vaccine. He said he didn't bother waiting for the Pfizer jab, which some people prefer because it has a higher efficacy.

"Bakit pa? Eh ganun din naman yun," Sotto said, explaining his decision to get what's immediately available.

Sotto said on Facebook that although mayors are part of the A1 priority sector, he gave way to those who needed it more.

Sotto reminded the public to prepare themselves while waiting to be vaccinated and listen only to experts, not on "forwarded messages" on Viber.

On the same day, Mayor Vico's uncle, Senate President Vicente Sotto III, was also vaccinated against COVID-19 as part of the A2 priority sector composed of senior citizens.
