#LetLeniSpeak: Robredo Tells Boy Abunda Why Voters Shouldn't Choose Marcos

Presidential candidate Leni Robredo said Wednesday Filipinos should not vote for her rival Bongbong Marcos because he's a "liar" (sinungaling) who shirks from difficult situations.

The Vice President gave the curt reply in an interview with celebrity talk show host Boy Abunda, whom Twitter users chided for repeatedly interrupting the opposition leader's replies, making the hashtag #LetLeniSpeak trend on Twitter.

Towards the end of the interview that had her reveal her stance regarding key issues, such as the pandemic, drug war, and the West Philippine Sea dispute, Robredo told the Filipino people why they should pick her and not her opponents.

"Number one: singungaling; pangalawa, in the difficult moments hindi siya nagpapakita," she said of survey frontrunner Bongbong Marcos. Robredo had called out late dictator Ferdinand Marcos' son before for his "lies" that tried to discredit the recount results of the election protest he filed, which maintained she defeated him for the vice presidency in 2016.

For her other opponents, Robredo said Manila Mayor Isko Moreno's principles were unclear, Senator Ping Lacson was more talk than "on-the-ground" action, and Senator Manny Pacquiao's kindness was not enough to lead as president.

Robredo told voters to vote for her instead in the upcoming May elections, highlighting her experience and capability to withstand crises as a woman leader.

"Ako, Boy, pinakita ko nitong krisis na ito, and many other crises in the past, na ang mga babaeng leader nagsha-shine during crisis. And pinakita ko iyan sa maraming trabaho namin dito sa OVP, maraming kaming mga krisis na nalagpasan with flying colors," Robredo said.
