Some banks said they would shorten its operating hours as the country logged record-high COVID-19 cases, believed to be caused by the highly transmissible Omicron variant.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas told public banks to continue providing essential services during Alert Level 3 in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. It also asked bank patrons to use e-banking and digital payment services for safer transactions.
Here are the adjusted operating hours of selected banks:
BDO
All branches in NCR will stay open until 3 p.m. starting Jan. 10, 2022.
It encouraged its clients to use its digital channels for transactions.
BPI
All BPI branches nationwide will operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Jan. 10 until further notice.
All its digital channels like BPI Online, BPI Mobile, and ATMs are available, it said.
Robinsons Bank
All of its branches in Metro Manila will operate during weekdays until 4 p.m., with some branches open during Saturdays under Alert Level 3.

Land Bank
Some Land Bank branches will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Metro Manila starting Jan. 10. The bank also listed down some of its closed branches effective Monday.
Metrobank
Its branches will operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays until Jan. 14, 2022. Check out the list of open branches here.
Metrobank also reminded its clients they can transact using Metrobank Online or Metrobank Mobile app.
Philippine National Bank
Starting Jan. 10, its branches will serve clients from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It reminded its clients that its Digital App is available 24/7 for bank transactions.
Security Bank
Its Luzon branches will close early at 3 p.m. until Jan. 14, it said on Facebook. For Security Bank's updated list of open branches, click here.
