MRT said Monday it would offer free random antigen testing for passengers willing to undergo COVID-19 testing as the country logged record-breaking cases assumed to be driven by the hyper-contagious Omicron variant.
MRT will hold the random antigen testing in North Avenue, Cubao, Shaw Boulevard and Taft Avenue stations on Jan. 11-14, 17-21, 24-28, and 31 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Each station can accommodate six passengers per period, or 24 passengers every day in each station offering free rapid antigen testing, it said.
Passengers willing to undergo antigen testing are required to fill out a consent form and contact tracing form before the rapid test, said MRT.
Those whose tests yield negative results can ride the train for free, train management said.
Those who will test positive will be barred from riding the train. They will also be asked to self-isolate and coordinate with their local government unit for further instructions, MRT said.
