Are You a 'Trapo'? Isko Moreno is Asked by Jessica Soho

Presidential candidate Isko Moreno on Saturday rejected criticism that he is a trapo or traditional politician, as the Manila mayor prepared to campaign for the presidency in the May 9 elections.

Before his political star-making turn as chief executive of the Philippiners' capital city, Moreno was vice mayor to Joseph Estrada, whom he later defeated. He also served as social welfare undersecretary of outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte.

"No, I am the president of a local party. Yung local party namin, nag-didisesyon kung sino sasamahan naming ka-partner sa national party. That’s what transpired, that’s what happened in the past," told GMA News' Jessica Soho, when asked if he was a trapo.

Before he assumed leadership of Aksyon Demokratiko, Moreno was a member of the Liberal, PDP-Laban, and Nacionalista parties.

"Basta kung sinong mabuting kandidato, kahit ano pang partido niya, at siya’y mabuting tao, sasamahan namin siya. Basta ikabubuti ng tao," Moreno addded.
