Bato and His "Beauty Contest" Comment Gave Us Some Shady Twitter Clapbacks
People aren't finding it cute, which we guess was kind of his point?
(SPOT.ph) It's getting harder and harder to laugh at the things happening in the Philippine government—unless you're into a dry, bitter, and almost painful kind of humor. It's super niche, but here's one for you: the latest from neophyte senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa. "You have to fight. Hindi ka pwede pa-cute-cute dito. Hindi ito beauty contest. Giyera ito. War on drugs," was the senator's latest remark, this time directed at Vice President Leni Robredo.
Robredo accepted the role of "Drug Czar," (fancy for co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs) on Wednesday, November 6, and Bato's reminder to her has made the rounds online since then. From some questioning where he was coming from to reminders of past antics, here are some of the shadiest clapbacks we found—people definitely didn't hold back.
How could anyone forget this?

Plus points for theatrics.
A picture really is worth more than a thousand words.
Aaaand not so subtle.
