(SPOT.ph) The 30th Southeast Asian Games ended with a bang—not to mention 387 medals and the title of overall champion for the Philippines—on December 11. Athletes from Southeast Asia made their final march with all their medals, Arnel Pineda came on stage with Journey, the Black Eyed Peas also returned with apl.de.ap, there was an epic drone show, dazzling fireworks, and the Vietnamese contingent even had a lovely presentation of their arts. Oh, and yes, Alan Peter Cayetano gave a speech; something people weren't too happy about, it seems.
As head of the Philippine Southeast Asian (SEA) Games Organizing Committee, Cayetano was expected to speak. It's just that the Twitterverse didn't like what he had to say—and they showed it. From rare insults to opinions to just plain aversion, we round up some of the most scathingly funny bits of shade we saw online:
Silver lining!
Just a thought.
You can almost hear the GIF going "mleh, mleh, mleh."
It adds up.
What do you suppose they were thinking?
The GIF says it all.
Cringe-fest alert.
What are other nations thinking now, you wonder?
Can't disagree.
We feel bad for Comic Sans.
