Over 300 skateboarders join Volcom Sari-Sari Skate Tour

Over 300 skateboarders joined the Philippines’ first national skate tour and clinic, the Volcom Sari-Sari Skate Stop 3 and Free For All Skate Clinic, on August 28 and 29 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. Hosted by retail company Aloha Boardsports and Five-0 Skate Shop, the weekend tour is the third of the five competitions scheduled this year.

Top skaters took home cash prizes on August 28:

Open Division - open to participants aged 17 and above
1st place - Jeff Gonzales (P15,000)
2nd place - Chocks Mangaspar (P10,000)
3rd place (tie) - Bam Bam Francisco and Marvin Basinal (P5,000)

16 and Under Division
1st place - Christan Caccam (P10,000)
2nd place - John Natividad (P5,000)
3rd place - Jonathan Ramiro (P2,500)

The next day, over 100 participants came to the Free for All Skate Clinic, wherein some of the country’s best skaters showed off their moves. Aloha Boardsports’ team riders Jeff Gonzales, Jonathan Tipan and Rasheed Al Rasheed also taught the basics of skating.
