Adding injury to the injury: Pac-Man faces possible fines for saying he's fine
The Nevada Athletic Commission has some concerns
(SPOT.ph) The Fight of the Century is over, the memes are all over the place, and it has been revealed that Manny Pacquiao fought with a shoulder injury. Cue gasps and cue fans saying he could've won without it. We will never know...and the Nevada Atheltic Commission says that we should have.
According to the Associated Press (report published by The Manila Bulletin on May 5), Pac-Man could face sanctions for not disclosing the extent of said shoulder injury. Nevada Athletic Commission Chair Francisco Aguilar said that they will look into why Pacquiao filled out his form incorrectly before Friday's weigh-in. The report also quoted Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Bob Bennett saying, "It’s not just the fact he didn’t fill out the question completely, it was that he wasn’t honest and they didn’t tell us a month ago when he had the shoulder injury."
They also want the fans to know that they're doing this because they want to ensure the safety of the fighters. Pacquiao is set to undergo surgery this week to repair the "significant tear" on his shoulder.
Update: Manny Pacquiao's camp released an official statement in response to the issue of the injury.
