WATCH: 100 Years of Filipina Beauty in less than two minutes
... and a dose of Philippine history
(SPOT.ph) It's pretty interesting to think about how the standards of beauty have changed over the years. Cut Video recently released 100 Years of Filipina Beauty—the sixth episode of their "100 Years of Beauty" series. The two-minute video takes us through a whole century that shows how Filipina beauty is heavily influenced by history and culture.
From the indigenous women of the 1910s, to the glamorous hairdos and heavy makeup during the American colonization, to big bouffant hair inspired by Imelda Marcos, to cringe-worthy beauty trends of the 1990s (check out that zig-zag part!), to today's wavy hair and bushy brows—it's a pretty fun (and funny) trip down memory lane.
