1, A transgender model lands a major modeling contract

Transgender model Hari Nef is making headlines for landing a major contract with top agency IMG Models. She made her runway debut in the recent New York Fashion Week, joining the ranks of other high-profile IMG models like Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, and Miranda Kerr. Prior to this, Nef has already been a spokesperson for the transgender community.



2. Pia Guanio leaves Chika Minute segment on 24 Oras

For 11 years, Pia Guanio was the newscaster who gave viewers juicy showbiz scoop with the line, "Chika minute!" On Friday, she announced that she will be leaving the newscast to "spend more time" with her family. She said that she will still be on Eat Bulaga and Homebase (on GMA News TV). 


3. Heart Evangelista posts photos of dinner with Chiz, parents

After hinting at a dinner with husband Chiz Escudero and her parents, Heart Evangelista took to Instagram on Thursday to post photos of the said event. She captioned the post, saying, "And then my life is perfect. Thank God for this moment." 


4. Mariah Carey calls American Idol the "worst experience of [her] life"

Mariah Carey has candidly spoken against her one-year stint as judge for reality show, American Idol, referring it to the "worst experience of [her] life" and "so boring and so fake." Regarding the so-called feud between her and then-fellow judge Nicki Minaj she said, "Pitting two females against each other wasn’t cool. It should have been about the contestants instead of about some non-existent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness and I would never want to be involved in it again, but everyone else can like it."



5. Poe, three others back plunder raps vs. Binay

Senator Grace Poe plus three other senators have signed a Senate subcommittee report recommending plunder charges against Vice President Jejomar Binay, his son Makati Mayor Junjun Binay, and other individuals involved in the alleged overpricing of the Makati City Hall parking building. The other senators who signed the report are Aquilino Pimentel III, Antonio Trillanes IV, and Alan Peter Cayetano.


6. Road reblocking, repairs from May 29 to June 1

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Friday issued an advisory for the scheduled road reblocking and repairs this weekend. The DPWH will undertake reblocking and repairs in major roads (including C-5) starting 10 p.m. Friday (May 29) until 5 a.m. Monday (June 1).
