VIDEO: Suspended Mayor Binay points out the push that justifies flying plastic chairs
Sometimes you push and someone pushes back. Sometimes someone throws chairs at you.
(SPOT.ph) On June 29, a rather disturbing video was aired by several news agencies, showing policemen defending themselves from plastic chairs. They were tasked with serving the suspension order to Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay at Makati City Hall. The footage documented the supporters of the suspended mayor throwing the chairs and even violently beating police shields with them. The officers held their position and didn't retaliate, making them the designated Mara (from the classic Mara Clara) of this scuffle.
On July 2, the supporters' love for the Binay family was requited when Binay Jr. personally appeared on ANC to defend them. This is praise-worthy, considering the Binays rarely show up to anything to defend themselves. But we digress.
GMA News also aired the clip, highlighting the push that started it all. Curiously, you can see a chair flying before the alleged pushing even happened.
Both camps are claiming that they exercised restraint. Well, they did say that Makati parties are wild.
