Victoria Court owner Archie King and a pilot die in chopper crash in Batangas
Six other passengers injured
(SPOT.ph) The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported on July 5 that Victoria Court owner Archimedes “Archie” Rosario King was killed when the chopper he was in crashed near Mt. Maculot in Batangas past 11 a.m. on Sunday. The pilot, Felicisimo Esteban Taborlupa Jr., was also killed.
Also aboard were King's wife Ling-ling; Philippine Tatler editor Anton San Diego; designer Tina Maristela-Ocampo and her husband Ricco; and Standard Insurance CEO Patricia Chilip and her husband Christopher. The six were airlifted from the crash site and taken to Martin Marasigan Memorial Hospital in Cuenca, before being transferred to St. Luke’s Medical Center at Bonifacio Global City.
The chopper was headed back to Manila from Puerto Galera and the investigators are trying to verify if it had cleareance to fly, given the poor weather conditions on Sunday because of Tropical Storm Egay.
