Senator Serge Osmeña has some pork barrel-related blind items for you to solve
Congressional chismis coming your way
(SPOT.ph) Pork in the P2.606 trillion national budget for 2016? Senator Serge Osmeña seems to think so. According to him, there are "unidentified items" in the General Appropriations Act of 2015 and his guess is that those are a "camouflaged" form of pork barrel. Former senator Panfilo Lacson previously commented on the mysterious lump sums amounting to P424 billion, which Senator Chiz Escudero said was "nothing irregular."
Senator Osmeña further explained that Congress approved the budget because they'll be receiving what he called "candy" and that the President is using that as lubricant to get bills approved. We were getting shades of House of Cards, and then it became a little The Buzz (R.I.P.!) when Senator Osmeña revealed that he knows one senator who received a billion in "pork" and another who received twice that amount.
He was quick to avoid answering further questions and simply said, "don’t ask me to identify anymore."
