Bayan tells DOTC to buy more trains, not upgrade tickets
Someone had to say it.
(SPOT.ph) On Monday, the new ticketing system for the MRT and LRT were tested and while that's nice, commuters (especially ones with access to the Internet) did not respond positively. They made a meme:
On one hand, at least the new turnstiles aren't decorative like the metal detectors on some platforms, but with the waiting time for each train growing increasingly longer, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) told the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) to "Address availability of trains first."
Bayan also hinted at "ticketing pilferage" by a number of employees, which it claimed has resulted in a P77 million loss for the government. The allegedly thieving employees have reportedly been fired.
