Plan those vacays: Malacanang has released the official list of 2016 holidays

(SPOT.ph) The official list of regular and special holidays for next year was released by Malacañang on August 26. Executive Sec. Paquito Ochoa, Jr. signed Proclamation No. 1105 on August 20, which details most of the expected holidays for 2016.

Meanwhile, the long weekends that Pinoys can look forward to are January 1 to 3 (New Year), February 6 to 8 (Chinese New Year), August 27 to 29 (National Heroes' Day), October 29 to November 1 (Semana Santa), and December 30 to January 2 (Christmas and New Year).
The proclamation included additional special non-working days to "strengthen family ties" and "promote domestic tourism."
The declaration of national holidays for Eidul Adha and Eid'l Fitr will follow once the approximation of the Islamic calendar has been finalized.
