Quotes of the Week: Mayor Duterte says he's not running for president, Luis Manzano gets angry + more

The city's most interesting soundbites this week

(SPOT.ph) The next presidential election is only nine months away, so naturally all media outlets are reporting about it with the same frequency as #AlDub, the country's hottest love team. Making headlines this week is Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who announced his decision that he won't run for president in 2016. Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) was met with praises on their first day manning EDSA, but the good news was cut short on September 8, Tuesday, when motorists and commuters got stranded for what seemed like hours on end on the major thoroughfare.

The mayor's supporters probably feel like the rejected ex-girlfriend who's still holding on to hope, no matter how many times he says it's over.
