Bongbong denies truth in presidential bid announcement on Sunday
The senator said that if he decides to run in 2016, the announcement would come from his camp.
(SPOT.ph) Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. denied on September 24 a newspaper report that said he is expected to announce his presidential candidacy on Sunday when he visits Mangaldan town in Pangasinan. “There is no truth to reports I would announce my candidacy in Pangasinan this weekend. I have been hearing so many dates of my supposed declaration of my plans for 2016. Unless you hear it directly from me, do not believe,” Marcos said.
He also said that the announcement would come from his camp, should he have a final decision about his plans for 2016. The senator is one of the three people that Vice President Jejomar Binay is eyeing as a running mate.
On Wednesday, the Philipine Star published a report that said the Senator would officially announce his 2016 plans in a visit to Mangaldan, Pangasinan, with statements from newly formed Pagkakaisa ng Mga Pilipino Para sa Pilipinas’ (PPP) top officials. “Senator Marcos is definitely running as president, not vice president, it’s just a matter of time, we are preparing for the big event,” quoting PPP chairman Vicente Millora.
