Senator Bong Revilla wants to be a Philippine president
A modern case of "I shall return"
(SPOT.ph) Sen. Bong Revilla has revealed that he was eyeing the country’s presidential seat and vows to return when his detention is fixed, according to a report on ABS-CBN News. He also said that he thinks his ambition to run for president is the reason for his being behind bars.
“Aminin natin na talagang plano ko talagang tumakbo sa pagka-pangulo. Sa tingin ko nga isa yun sa dahilan kung bakit ako nandito sa kulungan eh.” Revilla is currently facing trial for his alleged involvement in the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam, said to have been initiated by Janet Lim Napoles.
He said that while he is unable to run in the upcoming national elections, he will instead focus on supporting a particular candidate, which he will soon announce.
Revilla’s pre-trial was supposed to be held on Wednesday, September 30, but was reset to February 2016 due to lack of preparedness of the involved parties.
