Binay camp mocks Trillanes' bid for vice presidency
They say that the Senator is delusional.
(SPOT.ph) Vice President Jejomar Binay’s political spokesperson Rico Quicho said on October 4 that Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV is “entitled to his delusions,” referring to the latter’s bid for the vice presidency in 2016. “He has built his career out of attempting and failing to destroy institutions and reputations. That is his claim to infamy. Now he wants to bully his way to the vice-presidency,” Quicho added. According to Inquirer.net, Quicho labeled Trillanes “Senator 1-percent.” This was due to the Senator’s score of four percent in 2014 that has gone down to one percent in recent polls. Trillanes has been a consistent critic of Vice President Binay.
On Saturday, nine days before the start of filing of Certificates of Candidacy, Trillanes officially declared that he is joining the vice presidential race in 2016. "Sa inyong pasya ako po ay tatakbo bilang bise presidente ng ating bansa sa darating na halalan,” he announced during the Magdalo group’s general meeting at the Amoranto Sports Complex, Quezon City. He also expressed the Magdalo group’s support for Sen. Grace Poe’s presidential bid.
