Bi-Hon is really happening
We're getting hungry just thinking about it.
(SPOT.ph) Vice President Jejomar Binay and Sen. Gringo Honasan were the first presidential and vice presidential candidates to file their certificates of candidacy (COC) on October 12, the first day of registration for the 2016 national elections, at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office. Before filing their COCs, the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) bets first attended mass at the San Agustin Church in Manila, according to a report by Inquirer.net.
Honasan has said before that he was not interested in running for vice president, and would prefer to work behind the scenes to support Binay, UNA’s presidential candidate. The partylist also considered Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos as their VP, before he officially declared his vice presidential bid on October 12 at the Puerta Real Garden in Intramuros, Manila. “I dont have the luxury of an ego. I’m a soldier and I will follow the party,” Honasan told GMA News Online minutes before the filing of COCs, when asked about not being first choice as VP bet.
Sen. Nancy Binay and suspended Makati Mayor Jejomar “Junjun” Binay were with the Vice President at the COMELEC office. Also present to show their support were former Tarlac governor Tingting Conjuangco (aunt of President Benigno Aquino III), and Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay. The tandem did not give an interview to the media after filing their COCs.
