The numbers are finally in for Eat Bulaga's massive Sa Tamang Panahon event and It's Showtime's sixth anniversary celebration last Saturday. According to a report from PEP.ph, EB raked in a staggering 50.8% TV rating in Mega Manila. Meanwhile, Showtime registered a rating of 5.4%. Nationwide ratings have yet to be released.
By now, you've probably already noticed the hilarious similarities between Lionel Richie's "Hello" and Adele's "Hello." Even the former has joined in on the fun by posting a split-screen from each music video and captioning it with, "Hello @adele, is it me you're looking for..." He also posted the viral mashup of the video that's been making the rounds on the Internet.
Lippie addicts, you have a new limited edition lipstick to bag—if you want Drake on your lips, that is. Tom Ford recently told People Magazine's Style Watch that its 50-color beauty line, Lips & Boys collection, will include a shade inspired by Drake that comes in deep burgundy. Apple has launched three new 15-second advertisements for iPhone 6s, featuring NBA star Steph Curry and Jamie Foxx. The first one puts the spotlight on its latest camera enhancements like being able to shoot a video in 4K, with a cameo of Steph Curry. Foxx appears in the next two ads, which highlight more improvements like the hands-free "Hey Siri" feature.
After bagging the 2nd runner-up title in the 2015 UAAP Cheerdance Competition last month, the University of the Philippines (UP) Pep Squad is competing on an international stage to represent the Philippines. According to a statement released by the Philippine Embassy in Berlin, the UP Pep Squad will compete against 19 other countries in the Cheerleading World Championships in Berlin next month. Last year, they won a bronze in the Cheer Mixed event and a silver in Partner Stunts in Bangkok. UP, fight!
Flights were cancelled and hospitals were placed on red alert on Sunday, October 25 due to the spreading smog covering the Philippines' southern and central islands. Smog from Indonesian forest fires has reached various parts of Southeast Asia, reportedly killing at least 10 people and forcing schools to shut down. Presidential spokesman Herminio Coloma Jr. said the DOH is advising residents, particularly those with respiratory problems, to wear face masks.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Dir. Gen. Ricardo Marquez has ordered the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to open an investigation into claims of former Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) minister Lowell Menorca that alleged INC leaders are involved in his abduction. He also said that three members of the Quezon City Police District were involved. Menorca earlier recanted his initial abduction statement, but last week, came forward and released a video admitting to the abduction.
For the New Vois Association of the Philippines (NVAP), a group of throat cancer survivors, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago may be the country’s best option for president. NVAP's president Emer Rojas, said, "Cancer survivors and victims should not be discriminated [against]." He said that as someone who knows what it’s like to be sick, Santiago might just be the best advocate for good health. NVAP's statement comes after calls for Santiago to release her medical records—which the Senator refused.
