Bashers mistakenly target wrong Miss Germany
The #MissUniverse2015 drama continues.
(SPOT.ph) With all the recent—and seemingly never-ending—drama and controversy surrounding Miss Universe, it's natural that emotions are running high among those involved. In fact, things are so intense that people have been bashing the wrong people.
Miss Germany 2015, Olga Hoffman, took to her Facebook page on Tuesday to clarify that she wasn't Miss Universe Germany Sarah Lorraine Reik (the contestant who recently made controversial comments on Pia Wurtzbach's win).
Official Statement about Miss Universe #missgermany #missuniverse #missgermanycorporationPosted by Olga Hoffmann - Miss Germany 2015 on Tuesday, 22 December 2015
She explained that she and the Miss Germany Corporation were not in any way affiliated with Reik or the Miss Universe Germany pageant. Instead, she said that she was a big fan of Wurtzbach and added, "She deserves the title and we are proud of what she has accomplished, not only because Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is actually half-German, but most importantly she embodies the spirit of a true beauty queen."
Meanwhile, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez took to Instagram to congratulate Wurtzbach on her win, writing, "The happiness that you must be feeling must be incredible. Life continues and in the future we will find out why things happen the way they happen."
She also thanked Colombia and the Latino community for their support, saying, "I am the most fortunate and thankful for having the support not only from one country but from the whole entire world."
