Metro Manila is in Forbes' 10 Best Budget Travel Destinations for 2016
Yes, there's still beauty in this city.
(SPOT.ph) We never run out of reasons to love Manila, and here we have another one: Forbes included Metro Manila as one of the 10 Best Budget Travel Destinations for 2016. Despite its reputation for congestion and pollution, the capital is ranked fourth. Forbes wrote: “The problem is [most people are] wrong! Manila...has a huge amount to offer, both in and out of the city.”
Forbes cited Intramuros and nearby sights like The Rock (Corregidor) and Laguna. “While the Philippines is nowhere near as cheap as its neighbors like Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, the less developed and more unique experience more than makes up for it, and it is still just a fraction of the price of traveling in North America or Europe.”
We believe there are still so many more things to do in Manila, but we understand that Forbes can’t compress everything in a paragraph. If you want to explore, we're here to help. SPOT.ph will help you get around different cities, like Makati, Manila, Parañaque, Marikina, San Juan, and Pasig, on a budget. You can also visit beautiful historic structures around the Metro or stay at charming boutique hotels.
Other places that made Forbes' list include Georgetown, Malaysia; Xi'an, China; Barcelona, Spain; Thrace Region, Turkey; Morocco; Hungary; Malaysia; Croatia; and Puerto Rico.
