WATCH: Binay tells voters to take bribe money from vote buyers
(SPOT.ph) Vice President Jejomar Binay has one "win-win" tip for the public come election time and that is to take the cash from vote buyers while still voting for their preferred choice of candidates.
The standard-bearer for the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) party made the remark during his campaign stop in Iligan City, according to Inquirer.net.
“Tanggapin ninyo ‘yong pera, ilagay ninyo ‘yong pera sa inyong bulsa at bumoto po kayo sa inyong kursonada lalong lalo na kay Binay at kay (Senator Gringo) Honasan,” Binay said, referring to his running mate.
Binay added that it was just the voters’ right to take bribe money as he claimed this would allegedly come from the administration, which he has been calling out for allegedly underspending funds.
“Pera po ninyo 'yon. Naghirap kayo kasi hindi ginastos [ng gobyerno] ‘yong perang 'yon,” he said as an obvious swipe at rival Mar Roxas who was interior secretary for three years.
Aside from Roxas, Binay also took a potshot at Sen. Grace Poe who at six years has the shortest experience of government service among the presidential candidates.
“Baguhin na po natin ang pulitika. Bumoto na po tayo ng mga kandidato na may karanasan mamuno,” he said.
Binay, who is also facing graft and corruption charges, led the latest Business World-Social Weather Stations survey conducted from February 5 to 7 with 1,200 participants. He got a rating of 29 percent while both Poe and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte were tied at second with 24 percent each.
