WATCH: Taxi speeds off flyover with MMDA constable hanging on hood
The video looks like a movie stunt gone wrong.
(SPOT.ph) A taxi speeding off a flyover along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City was caught on CCTV with a traffic constable trying to apprehend him hanging precariously on the car’s hood.
The video showed how Metropolitan Manila Development Authority constable Roland Perez hung on for dear life as the taxi intentionally zigzagged to get him off, GMA News reported on March 7.
Perez held on for a good few seconds but eventually fell off the hood and landed flat on the flyover’s concrete, appearing injured.
Fortunately, he was not run over by tailing motorists and was immediately helped out by a motorcycle driver who pulled over.
Perez was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center where he underwent first aid and tests.
Meanwhile, his wife went to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to file a complaint against the taxi driver identified as Ramon Talan.
“'Yong pagaayos ng civil liability, assuming naayos ay hindi nangangahulugan na wala na siyang pananangutan sa batas,” Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Board member Ariel Inton said.
Inton added that they will investigate the operator of the taxi driver and file a recommendation to either suspend or revoke Talan’s license.
