Binay warns against voting for Duterte

(SPOT.ph) After Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte emphasized how the whole Binay family is "corrupt," saying “Basketball team ang nakawan,” rival presidential candidate Jejomar Binay shot back with his opinion on Duterte’s vow to rid the country of crime in three to six months, ABS-CBN.net reports.
“'Yong nagsabi ng three to six months, ‘yong kanyang pamamaraan para makamit ang peace and order, ang extrajudicial killings,” Binay said. “Ito siguro kaya sinasabing three to six months, may extrajudicial killings left and right. Pagka extrajudicial, mere suspicion lang, pinapatay ka na. Ang pinapatay dito ay ke minor, ke babae, ke whatever, ke matanda na, basta may suspicion. Patay ka nang patay,” he stressed.
“Kahit saang anggulo tingnan, mali ‘yon. Labag sa utos ng Diyos ‘yan: Thou shall not kill,” he added.
Duterte’s timeline also drew flak from opponent Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas. “Itong three to six months na into, pambobola ito eh. Lahat ng eksperto na nakakaalam sa krimen, nagsasabi na imposible ito,” he said.
According to Inquirer.net, Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile also weighed in on the issue, saying that Duterte may "pull a Marcos" by declaring Martial Law. “I cannot make a promise that I will be able to solve criminality in such a short period, unless he will mobilize the entire military organization, including the police and the [National Bureau of Investigation] and declare Martial Law, then I’ll believe,” Enrile said, expressing his doubts that Duterte can meet his deadline.
