1. Pia Wurtzbach admits to dating Dr. Mike

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Pia Wurtzbach finally confirmed that she is exclusively dating Dr. Mike Varshavski. Speculation first hit the web after the two got cozy on social media, but Wurtzbach never admitted to being in a relationship with the "World's Sexiest Doctor" until her interview. "I had to explain to him how it is here in the Philippines, kung paano ba manligaw, at kung alam niya ba kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng panliligaw," she said. "Ginagawa naman niya. And he’s a true gentleman." In an earlier interview, Miss Universe said that she was "dating," but didn't give any names.

2. The whole cast of Deadpool is confirmed to return for sequel

Although the end of Deadpool pretty much hinted at an upcoming sequel, Fox still officially announced that a second film is on the way...and everyone is confirmed to return. And yes, this includes star Ryan Reynolds, director Tim Miller, and screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. A release date has yet to be announced. 


3. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are having another baby

Spealking of Ryan Reynolds, it was also announced today, April 15, that he and Blake Lively are expecting a baby! The married couple are already parents to their 16-month-old daughter, James. Rumors of Lively's pregnancy first sparked when she was photographed reshooting scenes for her upcoming thriller film, The Shallows.

4. Amazon offers company building as shelter for the homeless

In a statement released today, April 15, Amazon said it is repurposing a company building as temporary shelter for homeless people in Seattle. The former hotel building and dormitory will reportedly house about 200 people, who are expected to begin moving in starting next week.



5. NBA writes a letter of gratitude to Kobe Bryant

Published on The Players’ Tribune, “Dear Kobe” is a heartfelt letter by the National Basketball Association addressing the Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s retirement from the sport. “Thank you for your passion, commitment, and dedication to basketball,” the letter says. Bryant played the final game of his career on Wednesday (Thursday, April 14 in the Philippines) with a spectacular win over Utah Jazz.


6. MMDA gives summons on first day of No Contact Apprehension policy

On the first day of relaunching their No Contact Apprehension policy, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority sent a summons to the Joanna Jesh Transport bus company for unauthorized loading and unloading. At last count there have been 176 traffic violations committed, mostly by public utility buses. Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Atty. Emerson Carlos said that infractions caught on the CCTVs will be reviewed before summons are issued. 


7. Binay promises to go after Duterte and Davao Death Squad


If he wins as president, Vice President Jejomar Binay vows to to form an independent commission to look into the “summary executions and human rights violations” allegedly committed by his rival Rodrigo Duterte and the rumored Davao Death Squad, which he also refers to as "DDS." “It’s time for DDS, along with Duterte, to answer to God and the laws of our country,” Binay states. He also says, “But because we respect the law, we will give Mr. Duterte and DDS the chance to defend themselves.” In a response all the way from Cebu City, Duterte says that he would still keep on killing criminals. “I will do it again and again,” said the Davao City mayor.


8. DPWH will hold road reblocking and repairs this weekend, April 15 to 18

The Department of Public Works and Highways will be conducting road reblocking and repairs starting 10 p.m., Friday, April 15, until 5 a.m., Monday, April 18. Be sure to take alternate routes for these areas:



  • Along Quirino Highway in front of Fatima Lagro, second lane
  • Along A. Bonifacio beside North Cemetery near General Tinio and Ipo Street, third lane
  • Along C.P. Garcia Street fronting Phivolcs Office, third lane from sidewalk
