Duterte says no to presidential yacht, yes to driving a cab

Criminals better think twice before hailing the president's cab.

(SPOT.ph) Presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte has started to lay out his plans once he becomes president, including what he will do with certain presidential privileges.

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the tough-talking Davao City mayor told reporters on May 15 that he plans to sell the BRP Ang Pangulo, the presidential yacht. The proceeds will go to war veterans, the improvement of hospital facilities, and doctors' salaries.

In that same event, Duterte also said he wants all aircraft assigned to the Presidential Airlift Wing to be converted as "air ambulances."

Duterte also plans to continue to driving his cab, which he used to do as Davao City mayor to familiarize himself with the city's commuters.

He said this does not bode well for criminal elements who will have the unfortunate luck of hailing his cab. Duterte also noted he does not need many bodyguards because if the time comes for him to die, it will happen regardless of the people defending him.
