PHOTOS: Scenes from the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Release Party
It was also Harry's birthday!
(SPOT.ph) Witches and wizards in the Philippines came together for the official release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child–Parts One and Two on July 31 at National Book Store in Glorietta 1. Yesterday’s unboxing of the special rehearsal edition script at exactly 7:01 a.m. coincided with the book’s worldwide launch, as well as Harry Potter's birthday (he was born on July 31, 1980 if you didn't already know!).
The book’s plot is set 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts and picks up from where the last book’s epilogue ended. It is also the first Harry Potter story to be adapted into a play at London’s West End.
For Potterheads who didn’t make it to the release party (use your Marauder’s Map next time!), check out some of the scenes from the event here:
Swish and flick! Ollivander made sure that even the Muggles had wands.
These Hufflepuffs are ready to board the Hogwarts train!
These fans didn’t feel like putting on a Muggle disguise and came to event dressed up as Lupin and Tonks!
This little Harry was one of the winners at one of the games hosted by Hogwarts Philippines.
This Ravenclaw just got sorted.
Selina Lee of Scholastic Books thanks Filipino fans for their love for Harry.
Give all of your socks to the house elves because they did a great job with this unique Cursed Child cake.
Looks like the magic truly remains and is here to stay. Always.
