Metro Manila police must resist the urge to take selfies while on duty
Please don't pick your nose, either.
(SPOT.ph) An official from the Philippine National Police National Capital Region Police Office has reminded their members that they should look professional at all times especially while on active patrol duty. A memorandum from Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana, deputy regional director for operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), had a detailed take on the don’ts of an active cop, GMA News reported.
According to the memorandum, taking selfies and playing mobile games are at the top of the list of the things policemen are prohibited from doing while on duty. Aside from these, policemen are not allowed to chew gum or pick their noses in public, nor should they scratch any part of their bodies. They are also instructed to exhibit proper posture at all times.
Philstar noted that they are also discouraged from sleeping, smoking, or loitering in restaurants, movie theaters, or other recreational establishments.
Nana believes these reminders will go a long way in ensuring the Philippine National Police (PNP) leaves a positive impression on the public.
Currently, the PNP has 85% of its police force roaming the streets as part of their efforts to spearhead the Duterte administration’s war against drugs.
