PAL releases long list of canceled flights
They're canceling some flights in certain routes starting today, September 1.
(SPOT.ph) Philippine Airlines, the country's flag carrier, announced that it will be implementing flight schedule changes effective today, September 1. The advisory was posted on their website on August 26. Affected domestic flights cover the following roundtrip routes: Manila - Caticlan, Manila - Cebu, Manila - Calbayog, Manila - Kalibo, Manila - Laoag, Manila - Legaspi, Manila - Tablas, and Manila - Tuguegarao. Canceled routes total 29 domestic flights.
Affected passengers will be notified of their new flight schedules. They may opt to rebook within 30 days from their original flight date or within the ticked validity period. Another option is rerouting their flight to the nearest destination of their choice. Philippine Airlines (PAL) is waiving any rebooking charges for these affected flights.
In addition, PAL also announced that it will soon operate new flights out of Clark International Airport. Prior to this, the only airlines that operated in the Clark Freeport Zone were AirAsia, Asiana Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Dragonair, Emirates, Jin Air, Qatar Airways, and Tigerair.
"These moves are being carried out in support of the government's thrust to decongest Ninoy Aquino International Airport," according to the statement by PAL.
