10 Heart-Wrenching Posts About the SC Decision on Marcos' Burial

A nation mourns.

(SPOT.ph) After two extensions of the status quo ante order, the Supreme Court of the Philippines announced on Tuesday, November 8 that it is allowing the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. This comes after the high court dismissed seven petitions that wish to stop President Rodrigo Duterte's administration from permitting the interment of the late dictator at the heroes' cemetery. Nine out of 14 judges voted to junk the arguments, including the violation of the 1993 agreement with former President Fidel V. Ramos, disregard of human rights violations and abuses committed during the Marcos regime, disgrace to the memory of those who suffered and died during the Martial Law period, among others.

It is a day of mourning for most, especially for those who experienced the atrocities under Marcos’ rule. We round up reactions on Twitter that accurately express our feelings about the decision of the high court.
